The Q graders in our cupping lab scored this coffee 85.

Among the producers of this coffee is Don Ruben Ajualip Gonzalez, owner of Finca Las Naranjas. Don Rueben has been one of the most important collaborators in the project. He inherited his farm from his father some years ago, but it was in 2005 that the coffee crop started to improve. The farm is located in Caserío Chuachacalte and has an area of 2.45 hectares, all of which is planted with coffee. His family also produces corn and beans for their own consumption.

On all the farms, coffee cherries were handpicked or selectively handpicked, de-pulped, naturally fermented, washed and sun dried. In this area, producers have been very receptive to Volcafe Way, and we’re seeing production and wet processing improving every day.
