Tomas Sunun purchased finca San Carlos 15 years ago but only began planting coffee in 2015. Like some other producers in the region, he traveled to the United States to work and save money, with the idea of one day coming back and buying a plot of land on which he could make his living. Tomas decided to plant coffee because it has some of the bestproducing yields in the area, and because his farm has the perfect conditions for it. Tomas is very passionate about coffee — and very clever. On his farm, he’s established an irrigation system that helps him have a much more stable production. And in addition to his farm, he has a purchasing station in town and provides transportation to other producers who deliver their coffee to us.
