The Q graders in our cupping lab scored this coffee 86.

Buenos Aires translates to “good winds,” and this high-altitude hamlet is known for its frequently windy state. This community is home to about 30 families, and much like its neighboring Las Botijas, it has a long tradition of growing vegetables. Four years ago, after a particularly bad harvest, the community began experimenting with planting coffee, and it has proven very successful. This is the community’s second coffee harvest cycle. Molinos de Honduras, GO’s sister organization, has worked very closely with the Buenos Aires community, since it began producing coffee, and the Molinos quality team was very impressed by the increase in high-quality coffees coming in this year. They scored this microlot an 85.5 and recorded notes of raisin, cocoa, papaya and honey while the coffee was still very fresh.
