The Q graders in our cupping lab scored this coffee 85.75.
This coffee is named after the man who grew it, Jose Cupertino Gomez. His farm is located in the municipality of San Juan, in the community of Buenos Aires and the department of Intibuca— a coffee-growing region since coffee first arrived in Honduras. Don Jose Cupertino is a quiet man, with a lot of wisdom, especially about his farm, which he inherited from his father and intends to pass on to his children. He only recently began working with our team at the Molinos de Honduras mill, but he has worked very hard, and successfully, to differentiate his coffee. We chose this lot for how beautifully it represents the Western Region, with its fruity, sparkly acidity and smooth body.
